Northeast India is land of Festival. People here, celebrated different type of festival whole the year. Because northeast India has different type of tribes so they have different type of festival. Mostly Festival here are related to the agriculture or beginning of the New Year. Above this the people of Northeast India has some festival which are tourist attraction.
1. HORNBILL FESTIVAL.
Hornbill festival is one of the famous festival in Northeast India. This festival is celebrated in the state of Nagaland, at Kisama village which is located about 12 km away from the capital city Kohima. This festival is celebrated from 1st of December to 10th of December every year. All tribes of Nagaland take part in this festival. This festival promote the cultural heritage of the State. The main motto of the festival is to protect and revive the culture of the state. People can enjoy the colorful performances like crafts, sports, food fairs, games and ceremonies. Traditional art like painting, wood carving, and sculptures are also included in this festival. One of the major attraction of this festival is the Hornbill International Rock Festival.
2. ZIRO FESTIVAL OF MUSIC.
Ziro Music Festival is a outdoor music festival held at Ziro, in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. This festival was founded in the year 2012 by Bobby Hano. It is an Independent music festival in India. Where people can enjoy the tribal music. Hosted by the member of Apatani Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, Ziro. This festival take places in between the month of September and October for 3 long days. This festival is known as one of the Eco-friendly festival in India. This festival has two stage Donyi and Polo, Donyi means the sun and polo means the moon. Donyi Polo is a religion followed by the tribal people of Arunachal Pradesh. People need to get ticket to get in the festival which can be found on the festival ground or on the website.
3. BACARDI NH7 WEEKENDER FESTIVAL SHILLONG.
This festival is almost familiar to all, this festival held in five different cities in India. One from those cities is Shillong "The Rock Capital of India". This festival is one of the famous festival in Northeast India. This festival take places in the month of November for two days at Jaintia Hill.
4. ORANGE FESTIVAL DAMBUK.
Orange festival of music and adventure is held at Dambuk located at Arunachal Pradesh, in the district of Lower Dibang Valley. Which is hosted for four days. This festival in India is first festival that combines Adventure sports and Music. This festival is celebrated because Dambuk is the region to produces best number of Orange in India. This festival is celebrated from 15th of December to 18th of December.
5. DWIJING FESTIVAL ASSAM.
Dwijing music festival is celebrated on Aie River Park, Hagrama Bridge, at Chirang district located at Assam. "Aie means mother". This festival was first held in 2015, and is celebrated for ten days in the month between December and January. Various colorful events like ethnic trades and food, exhibition, games & sports, river camping, adventure and various cultural program are included in this festival.
